  2. Make sure it's appropriate, to the theme and for all ages.
  3. ONE (1) entry per person please.

The theme for the week is My American Girl (Just Like You). I know it's simple, but this is the first one. The deadline is Sunday, Sept. 9. The winner gets a e-drawing made by me. (I apologize in advance for my artwork. To see what it's like, see my GOTY 2013 post.) Remember, this is for fun, so don't get too competitive. Comment to enter.

Have fun!

MORE CAROLINE!!!!!!!!!

I was surfing around on one of my favorite sites, dolldiaries.com/photos-of-carolines-collection/, and I found this! Click on the link. I was having trouble uploading the video.

SPOILER ALERT! WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE YOU READ THE REST OF THIS POST!!!!!

Okay, now I love Caroline! And did you see that canopy bed? That's coming home one day! I showed it to my mom and she said, "Uh oh!" And her orange dress is gorgeous! I love Caroline more and more every time I see her.

I think they might be going back to the Pleasant Company plan a little bit. The early AG's all had a rescue kit, a doll, a tea set, and a table and chairs. Caroline has almost all of that or variations of that.

I think Caroline is being added to my wish list. And her bed. And her traveling dress. And her accessories.

What's your favorite thing from Caroline's collection?

                                                                                                                          Nina:)

GOTY 2013

I really want a redhead Girl of the Year!  I want her name to be Saige (a name trademarked by American Girl along with Teagen and Saba) with LONG curly red hair and forest green eyes. She comes in an indigo polo and a magenta skirt with her symbol (an elephant) on it. Her shoes are black Mary Janes and and she comes with a blue headband with matching socks.

                                                                             Saige
Saige Summerbeam is a lively 10-year-old growing up in Mullen, Nebraska. She is into acting. She tries out for the role of Annie in Annie at her local childrens' theatre. She gets it,  but Livvy, the popular girl who got put on soundboard, wants that role bad, and as always, she gets her way. She is given the role of Annie, and they give Saige the role of Anna, Annie's mythical twin sister because there are no roles left. Can the girls work together to make the show a success?

                                                            Saige Takes the Spotlight
Saige is devestated when she finds out the local zoo has to sell their elephants. Elephants are her favorite animal! She springs into action. She sets up car washes and bake sales, but nothing seems to bring in enough peanuts (no pun intended). Saige decides to break some rules to get the elephants back. She sets up a show in the local theatre without permission. Will get caught? Or will Saige take the spotlight?

Now for some outfits and accessories!

  1. Saige's Accessories- Saige packs everything she need in her purple backpack. She has her water bottle, theatre pass, lucky elephant charm, and her script for Annie.
  2. Saige's rehearsal outfit- Saige wears these comfy purple bike shorts and elephant t-shirt during practice. She puts her hair back in a headband and she's ready to dance!
  3. Saige's pajama's- Saige has sweet dreams in this soft lavender nightgown with tiny elephants on it. She slips on her elephant slippers and grabs her stuffed animal, Trunkle the elephant, and she's ready to go to bed.
That's all I have. If she is anything like that, I might get her. What's your scoop/hopes for GOTY 2013?

                                                                                                              Nina:)

Caroline: Original or Lanie's Older Sister?

Caroline Abbot is finally here! Her dress is pink. I'm kind of neutral on her now, but I like her more and more every time I see her. Her hair is just gorgeous though. I heard somewhere that she'll have a bonnet in her accessories.

I really wanted a redhead doll, but her curly hair is just what I expected (and hoped for!). Caroline's dress is Felicity's summer dress dyed pink! Really, AG? I think they're losing their creativity. Those shoes are not historically accurate. A girl would wear those for dancing. She would wear boots on a gravel path like that.

On a different note, look at that boat! It's called a Skiff, a small sailboat. I will definitely get that orange outfit! And that parlor set, adorable!

I do feel like I've seen Caroline before, though. She looks like Lanie, and her dress is Felicity's summer dress pink. The outfit she's wearing in the bottom left looks like Lanie's Butterfly Outfit, and her dress below is Elizabeth's Tea Gown re-taylored.

I don't know, but Caroline's growing on me, so I might get her one day, but I also want Felicity, and I might need to wait to see if the rumor if a redhead GOTY (girl of the year) is true.

As always, I'd love to hear what you have to say, so comment! Remember, if I reach my goal, I'll set up a contest.

                                                                                                                 Nina:)

Redhead Bitty Twins?

On www.dolldiaries.com, there has been a rumor flying that there will be redhead Bitty Twins released with Caroline (see above). So I Google Imaged it and found this.

I don't know. They recently released the redhead Bitty Baby, so I think that started the rumor. It could be photo shopped, but I really hope they do make them. Aren't they cute?

So do you think these twins will happen, or will American Girl keep the redheads playing with brunettes?

                                                                                                                                 Nina:)

Springfield Olivia

I am in love with Springfield's Olivia's long red hair! I might have to get her soon!

If I do get Olivia, I'm going to change her name. Any suggestions?

Thank You!

I'd like to thank my dear cousin Ella for being the first person to post on my blog! Thanks Ella!

                                                                                                                       Nina:)

Sunday Thoughts- Felicity

I'm starting this thing called Sunday Thoughts. I'll state all my thoughts on that doll/outfit/accessory/etc. each Sunday. This week's installment; Felicity.

When I think of Felicity, the first word that pops into my head is why. Why would American Girl retire such a beautiful and popular doll? Why was Felicity the only doll to have her meet dress changed? Why don't I have her?

I have wanted Felicity since I first started collecting in 2007. Her red hair is just gorgeous. Her vibrant green eyes remind me of her spirit. Felicity is probably my favorite doll I don't have.
I have been looking on eBay for a while for her but there's never a good deal. Someday I'll get her though.

Guess What?

Hey guys! If I get at least 5 comments from at least 3 people, I'm going to do a bi-weakly contest! The contest will be simple; just describe your dream American Girl outfit according to the theme. So leave a comment or two suggesting themes. I've got a few made up already, but I'd like to hear what you have to say. This contest will only happen if I get 5 KIND (emphasis on kind) comments from 3 people.

Thank you! I hope that you do leave a comment; I love hearing what you have to say!

                                                                                                                        Nina:)

No More Retired Dolls!

It makes me so mad that American Girl retires dolls! I was saving up to buy Felicity but didn't have enough money to buy her before she retired. Now I scour eBay for her but can never find a good deal. Why should we have to? I'm sure some of you feel the same way I do.

I know that American Girl has a budget like the rest of us, but they can cut production of some less popular items. And if they really do need to retire a doll, make it a My American Girl that looks like a historical.

Some of you must feel this way, too. It's so sad to see an AG original say goodbye. And if the rumors of retiring Molly in 2013 are true,I'll be heartbroken. But my mom says I can get her when she retires.

So what do you say? Should American Girl retire dolls, or not?

                                                                                                                      Nina:)

Meatloaf!

Has anyone seen the new AG pet Meatloaf? I have at AG Place Boston, and he is too cute!
Here are my pictures
I love him!
He is less "meaty" in real life, but he is still  cute. His body is really hard. His ears are sewn down, but he was on display so he has gotten love from many little girls, so one stitch  fell out.
His side. His wrinkles are sewn down. His tail. You can also see the velcro on his collar. His other side. Again the wrinkles are sewn down. And finally, Meatloaf in the Pet Rain Gear set
Meatloaf will definitely come home with me one of these days. Overall, out of 10, this cutie gets a 9.8. The only reason he doesn't get a 10 is because of the price. If he wasn't 22$, I would have him already.
So what's your take on Meatloaf? Please respond!
