Ballet Week: How to Make a Doll Tutu and Special Surprise!

Today for Ballet Week, we are going to make an iconic tutu! Though they are not worn to class/practice and pretty much only used for recitals, they are a symbol of ballet worldwide. (And since these are dolls, they can wear their tutus to class if you want!
 You'll need:

  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Tulle/sheer fabric
  • Doll (for sizing)

 1. Cut your fabric into long strips (about an inch longer that your doll's leg, or mid-shin for Barbie/other fashion dolls).
 2. Take your ribbon...
...and tie it around your doll, leaving enough so it can be tied in a bow. Snip it.
 3. Begin tying your strips onto your ribbon, having the close together.
 And you're done!
Tie it on your doll. If you have a ballet leotard, that's awesome, but one piece suits and gymnastics leotards work. And you could alway use a shirt, too!
Now... Time for the SPECIAL SURPRISE!!!!

We are having...
